European stocks dip at open (AFP)

LONDON (AFP) - European stock markets fell slightly at the start of trading on Thursday, with London's FTSE 100 index of leading shares down 0.08 percent at 5,362.10 points.
Frankfurt's DAX 30 lost 0.29 percent to 6,192.61 points and in Paris the CAC 40 shed 0.19 percent to stand at 4,275.17.
Japanese share prices closed down 1.98 percent on fears of more bad news of the US financial sector, dealers said.
US stocks had wobbled higher on Wednesday as investors mulled troubled investment giant Lehman Brothers' news of hefty losses and plans to sell assets to shore up its finances.
