London stocks gain ground at open (AFP)

LONDON (AFP) - The FTSE rose 0.18 percent in initial trade on Monday, as investors responded to a massive US rescue plan for the distressed financial sector.
London's FTSE 100 index of top shares advanced to 5,320.80 points in opening trade.
