London stocks slump 8.65% to hit four-year low (AFP)

LONDON (AFP) - The London stock market nosedived 8.65 percent in late afternoon trade Monday, hitting a four-year trough on investor concerns about the spreading global financial crisis, dealers said.
In late afternoon trade, the capital's FTSE 100 index of top shares sank by 430.59 points to hit 4,549.66 points -- which was the lowest level since September 28, 2004.
