Seatte, WA (PRWeb) January 26, 2007 -- Time-tested tools and resources for managing change -- grouped into situation-specific Resource Packs -- are now available for download from ChangeStart (reorganizations, mergers, and other workplace changes, whether on a small or large scale. The documents, in Microsoft Word format, provide a blend of advice and tools, including checklists, templates for meetings and documents, talking points for managers, tactics for managing change, draft memos and question-answer summaries. The material provides a starting point for developing organization-specific material.

Bevan describes how ChangeStart evolved from his consulting practice.

"Managers dealing with change are looking for advice and ideas, but they also want ready-to-use resources. And not all need (or can afford) external consulting help. So I started to adapt the tools and products that I'd developed for my consulting and teaching, and now I'm making them available in generic form."

The ChangeStart tag line is "Download - Develop - Deploy." Customers can download the Resource Packs, use them as the basis for developing the tools they need, and deploy them within their own organizations.

Four Resource Packs are currently available, with several more in development. They draw on material Bevan has used in his client work and teaching. As an external faculty member for the University of Washington Executive MBA program, he developed and taught a course on the management of change. ChangeStart offers tools for managers who might have relatively little experience of managing change and who welcome ideas and resources to get them started.

The templates and drafts in the Resource Packs are easily customized into material that managers can deploy in their own organizations, Bevan says. "We charge $65 for each Pack and figure that if it saves the buyer a few hours, or generates ideas that can be turned into effective action in the workplace, then it's good value -- and in some cases it saves a great deal more than that."

Available Resource Packs include "Developing a Summary Document for Change," "Managing Employee Focus Groups," "Conducting Stakeholder Assessments," and "Getting Change Back on Track." Additional Resource Packs currently in development include tools for managing mergers and acquisitions, handling rapid growth, and dealing with downsizing.
